The Challenge:
When RNR Dispensary came to Hybrid Marketing Co., Google had the wrong idea about the website.
The site had been hacked and used to host torrent download pages. Search Console still showed traffic tied to torrent-related searches and URLs, while the searches that could bring an actual cannabis customer into the store had far less visibility.
That created a larger business problem. RNR operates in a competitive Brooklyn market where customers often choose a dispensary based on proximity, convenience, Google visibility, delivery options, and what they can find quickly on their phones.
RNR needed visibility from people looking for cannabis in Bushwick and the surrounding Brooklyn market. Someone searching for a dispensary near me, weed delivery in Brooklyn, edibles near Bushwick, or local dispensary deals needed a relevant page to land on.
The marketing foundation also needed work. The website lacked the location, delivery, product category, and promotional pages that could support a stronger local search presence, and the existing analytics setup made it difficult to connect marketing channels with what customers did after reaching the site.
Hybrid’s first job was to rebuild that foundation. From there, we could turn it into a local SEO strategy built around the searches that mattered to the business.
The Strategy
Rebuilding the Website Around Local Search
Hybrid updated the website, extended RNR’s existing brand across its digital presence, implemented Google Tag Manager, and improved analytics tracking.
Then we changed the site’s structure.
A dispensary homepage cannot carry every local search on its own. Customers search by neighborhood, product, delivery availability, deals, and proximity, so the website needed pages that matched those needs.

Then we changed the site’s structure.
A dispensary homepage cannot carry every local search on its own. Customers search by neighborhood, product, delivery availability, deals, and proximity, so the website needed pages that matched those needs.
Strengthening RNR's Local Presence on Google
The website was only part of the dispensary SEO work.
Hybrid also optimized RNR’s Google Business Profile, updated store information and hours, added photos and branding, linked the profile to the Bushwick location page, and added a direct ordering link.
That work mattered because many local cannabis customers make decisions before they ever reach a dispensary homepage. They search Google, compare nearby stores, check reviews, look at photos, scan hours, and decide where to go.
RNR’s website and Google Business Profile needed to reinforce the same location, product, and service signals so Google had a consistent picture of where the dispensary operated and what nearby customers could find there.
Hybrid continued monitoring technical SEO, competitors, keyword rankings, and Search Console data while expanding the site’s local content as new opportunities appeared.
Supporting Local Demand With Paid Media
SEO needed time to rebuild visibility after the website problems, so Hybrid also used paid media to reach nearby customers.
Google Ads targeted high-intent searches tied to RNR’s market, including terms such as dispensary near me and Bushwick dispensary.
Meta Ads focused on people around the store’s local market, giving RNR another way to build awareness among nearby customers.
Email marketing supported the retention side of the strategy by promoting events, new products, specials, and other reasons for customers to return.
Each channel had a different role in the plan. Search captured existing demand, paid social expanded local awareness, and email helped RNR stay connected with customers it had already reached.
Connecting Marketing Channels to Ecommerce Activity
Hybrid also improved RNR’s ability to measure what happened after someone reached the website.
Once ecommerce tracking was implemented, RNR could see purchases and online revenue attributed across channels such as Organic Search, Google Business Profile, Paid Search, Email, Direct, and Referral.
That gave the dispensary a clearer view of which marketing channels contributed to ecommerce activity and a better foundation for future budget and strategy decisions.
The Results:
RNR began attracting substantially more legitimate website traffic and earning stronger visibility for searches tied to the business.
208%
More Website Users
Overall website traffic also increased 121.2% during the reporting period.
142.5%
Growth in Organic Search Traffic
Organic Search became one of RNR’s largest sources of website sessions, reflecting a stronger presence for searches tied to the dispensary, its location, and the products customers were looking for.
176%
More Clicks From Google Search
RNR also improved the quality of its organic visibility. Organic click-through rate increased 207.1%, while average search position improved 51.4% during the reporting period.
More Visibility for Local Dispensary Searches
The gains also showed up in searches with clear local intent.
Clicks for “dispensary near me” increased 66.3% year over year, while clicks for “bushwick dispensary” increased 69.6%.
RNR also reached an average organic position of 6.9 for “bushwick dispensary.”
Local Google Map Pack tracking showed RNR reaching:
- Position 1 for searches including “brooklyn dispensary near me” and “best dispensary in brooklyn”
- Position 2 across four tracked keywords, including “bushwick dispensary near me”
- Position 3 across five tracked keywords, including “dispensary near me”
Those rankings put RNR in front of people searching with clear local intent, the kinds of searches that can lead to a store visit, delivery order, or online purchase.
The Outcome
RNR’s recovery came from rebuilding the pieces local search depends on: a technically sound website, pages matched to local search intent, a stronger Google Business Profile, and ongoing attention to rankings, competitors, and search behavior.
That foundation helped RNR replace irrelevant search visibility with traffic from people looking for cannabis in Brooklyn.
The site now gives customers clearer paths to location information, delivery, products, deals, and nearby neighborhood pages. The Google Business Profile supports those same local signals at the point of search. Paid media helps RNR reach additional nearby customers, while better analytics shows how marketing channels contribute to ecommerce activity.
More people were finding RNR through legitimate search, more searchers were clicking through to the website, and the dispensary was competing more effectively for the local queries that matter in Brooklyn.
